Monuments
The Wang Church in Karpacz is one of the most important monuments in the Karkonosze Mountains. This wooden temple, originally erected in the 12th century in Norway, bought at auction by the Prussian king, Frederick William IV, and then moved from Norway, is an excellent example of Nordic architecture. The church was rebuilt on the slope of the Black Mountain in the Karkonosze. The reconstruction required a lot of effort, but it was possible to preserve the characteristic features of the architectural style, including runes and Nordic motifs. Walking inside the temple, one can feel as if in a medieval tale with Vikings and Nordic dragons playing the main roles.
