The ruins of the castle in Stara Kamienica are a story full of intrigues, reconstructions, and changing owners. The original castle, probably surrounded by a moat, completely changed its appearance as a result of an expansion by Caspar II Schaff in the Renaissance style in the 16th century. Unfortunately, a fire in 1616 and subsequent events related to the history of the region led to the destruction and final demolition of the castle in the 19th century. Currently, only the ruins of the tower, vaulted cellars, and a stone bridge over the moat remain, made available for touring as a "permanent ruin". This place is a fascinating example of the history of one of the most important knightly families in Silesia.
