The monastery in Cieplice is a place where history and spirituality merge into one. The contribution of the Cistercians, who have lived here since 1403, to the development of the spa is invaluable. The monastery building is part of a Baroque complex, which was once a branch of the Krzeszów monastery, erected in 1586-1587, and a hundred years later, thoroughly rebuilt in the Late Renaissance style. The interiors are decorated with paintings dedicated to St. Bernard, among others, as well as frescoes with a rich iconographic program. Part of the building currently serves as the headquarters of the Natural History Museum, which includes, among others, the Virtual Museum of Baroque Frescoes in Lower Silesia. After many transformations and a period of secularization, the building's area is now used by the Natural History Museum, a Roman Catholic parish, and the Piarist Order College.
